ls swap

so I'm about to do my first LS swap on my '68 c10 swb. If I buy a painless harness will it plug into the factory harness? Also i am going with all porterbuilt level 3 dropmembers, does anyone know if i can use the factory oil pan or do i need to go with a lowpro oil pan? I would appreciate any help thank you. Just started looking into this so if these are dumb questions be easy on me lol:

Your are leaving out a bunch of info like what engine it is and you might want to post this in the lsx section, if it is a truck vortec then you will need to swap the oil pan but you should ask that question with porterbuilt, probably not to many folks here are using that set up, I used a Cadillac oil pan, I do not think any harness plugs into a factory harness

Welcome, The harness is standalone meaning you need to provide power (key on and key off) and a ground. There are a few other wires you will need but you will need to splice into your factory harness. You will need a brake (on/off) switch.
There really is not much you will need to get from your factory harness. They really work independent.
We will need some more info but I used a camaro pan for my swap. If you are going from a truck motor you will need the sump line and baffles as well. There are some aftermarket that might work.
Look around in this spot on the forum and you will find tons of info. This has been done several times.

If i remember correctly, I saw Modern Vintage Systems on instagram state that they would do an LS harness wired in to a American Autowire Classic update harness if that is what you're looking for.

Check with PB on the pan, CTS-V will probably work but they ought to know.
