looks like a van to me, at least the tilt lever is from a van.
Looks like a later van unit to me, like 77-ish to 80. The pointer you are looking for is the exact same as a real truck tilt would use. The vendors pretty much all have them. They break very easily (both originals and aftermarket replacements) and it's not a bad idea to have a spare if it really bugs you. |

I agree with Longhornman, it looks like a late 70's van column. they were also used on class 'C' motor home all the way up to about '91. was made by Saginaw.

in order to install that pointer, you have to remove the PRND21 indicator and hook the pointer in there.

Does your pointer look like this? If it is somewhat simalar, but in black, then you have the later model one..the 81 to when ever model van pointer.

Longhorn, thanks! The one you are holding is the one I sent back to LMC. The one you have looks just like the 69-72 one I ordered, but it does not fit, at least I did not think it fit.........I did not know you have to remove the PRNDL window to install pointer.
I guess black is what I have to tell them. |

Hey longhorn, is that pointer that you are holding, for a 67 -72 tilt. If so I guess mine is original factory tilt. My pointer is broken as well.

You may have had the right one!
The tilt pointer alot of times breaks off down inside the housing and thats why new one won't go in all the way. It's a bear to get that broke off piece out. take a flashlight and look down in the holder. if you see white then part of it is still there holding you up. I have had three columns that didn't fit with pointer and that was the problem

Neither one of those two look right to me. Looking at the one I have here (which i took out of one of my columns) the part that actually goes up to the PRND21 window is less of an angle than those.
Mountian Man...what I am trying to say with the pointer is that the van one, the truck one, and the one in some RV's are the exact same part number. |
