Motor mounts

I'm going to have to show my lack of knowledge on these trucks for a min. Looking at the stock motor mount perches there is only one bolt hole in the middle for the mount. Is there a bracket or something like that that bolts to it to attach the mount to?

Re: Motor mounts

How about some pictures. Also, what motor are you putting in? There are many variables involved.

Re: Motor mounts

No, there is no bracket needed. The '63-'72 small block and I6 engine mounts have a threaded hole in the center. A 7/16-20 bolt passes thru the hole in the engine mount bracket and threads into the engine mount which is bolted to the side of the block on a small block. On the I6 engines, there is an additional bracket that bolts to the side of those blocks which the engine mount bolts to.

The number 2282 is the same part number used by most all manufacturers of these engine mounts. You can also purchase them at your local auto parts supplier.

Re: Motor mounts

Thanks Cap. I can always count on you and that fountain of knowledge you have. Oh and BTW for anyone reading this, the brackets and adaptors I have gotten from Captain Fan are second to none and some of the only parts I have gotten that needed no "tweaking " to work.
