Bad Driveshaft Angles - Options?

Looking for options as I don't think I can improve my angles easily. Tranny is down 5.5, first shaft is down 7 (operating angle of 1.5), second shaft is up at 9 and the pinion will be down at 7 leaving 16 degree operating angles for the last two angles. Motor can't come down much as I've only got 1/4" clearance between the rack and pan. I've got the center bearing shimmed 2 inches and it leaves very little room to fit through the trailing arm crossmember.

Anyone have experience with the double joints used on lifted trucks? Just wondering how they are for vibration.

Can you post a picture of the entire chassis. From the pictures it looks like the tranny is way high. The solution for the rear drive shaft is converting to a constant velocity joint in the front of the rear drive shaft and that will allow you to point the pinion right at the drive shaft with just a small angle.

Your gonna have a vibrating mess with it set that way....your rear diff needs to be angled up...not down...it really doesn't matter the angle of the engine...we try to shoot for 3deg but that's just a loose standard...5.5deg down will be fine...as long as the diff matches it with 5.5deg up
My current build truck was 9deg from the factory(engine and diff)..although I changed it to 3deg when I did the engine/axle swap
.....from the pics it looks like you need to raise your carrier bearing...you need to do something with the crossmember...

I tried looking at your build thread but there's no pics....that I can see...you've got a swb listed...if so I'd run a 1pc d-shaft....and do a loop in the crossmember...

Maybe I'm wrong but I think it's a negative angle when the pinion is pointed up and that's how I have it, so when I say down I mean negative angle pointing down towards the back of the truck.

Thanks for the options, but whether I go one piece or stay two piece I'm going to have to put a big loop in that trailing arm crossmember.

I guess it depends on how your looking at it...I always call engine/trans a neg angle (pointing down)and diff a positive angle(pointing up)...I would do the loop and go 1pc shaft....but that's just me ....

Thanks, it's not so much of a question of how to set it up, that part I know, it's what are my options with these crap angles.

just a guess since we can't see the entire setup, but it looks like the motor/trans need to move down in the chassis & move the carrier bearing towards the back of the frame in order to lessen the angles.
