Question GMC Jimmy Numbers question

Trying to check serial/stamping numbers on 71 Jimmy. How do I tell if the numbers on the frame are correct for the body VIN number?
The left frame # and the right frame # are different.
How do I tell if the Engine # is the original?

VIN # KE114S110082
307V8 Engine # V0729 THG
Chassis # Drivers Side = 3990315 240 2249
Chassis # Pass Side = 3987548 240 8449

Any words of wisdom here??

The frame the engine and the motor should all have most of the latter part of your vin.
It may be stamper 14S110082, might be shorter but should be at least last 6 numbers.

307V8 Engine # V0729 THG is the correct 71 4x4 motor for the Jimmy. Part of the vin should be stamped in a smaller type print in the same are you find the V0727 THG. Usually stamped below and to th right of it. They are not stamped as deeply so they are harder to see.

Your vin is correct for 71 Jimmy also.

I'd say your probably looking at a matching numbers vehicle.

The other frame stamped number are part numbers for the frame rails I believe. They would be the same on other similar style .. example other Jimmy's.

Check on the top of the frame rail near the steering box for the frame to be stamped with the last numbers of the vin. If you have that and the proper vin and motor is correct ... success.
