New to me 6.0
Hey guys. I was at my local wrecking yard and found a 2001 Yukon Denali
I bought the complete package; motor, trans 4l60e, uncut harness and pcm, fuse box, pedal, intake extra. After the motor was pulled the transmission was rebuilt not to long again as it was clean and silver. I am not sure but is there a tac module? If so what does it look like and where is it located? I want to make sure I get it. Oh and I got it for 600$ and they removed it. 151k Also what should I inspect on this package?

Re: New to me 6.0
If its DBW, there will be a TAC module to the left of the brake booster (to the right if you are standing at the front of the truck) it will be all plastic on an '01. You will need to get an '03-'04 TAC to pedal harness since in '01 and '02 that harness is part of the body harness and almost impossible to remove, unless you want to just cut the two ends and splice them back together.

I cut the black plastic box that was under the dash directly under the steering wheel. I didn’t see anything left next RO the brake booster. How big is it? The black plastic box I got was about 6x5” with 2 plugs. I thought it was the body control mod.

Re: New to me 6.0
Thank you Greg,
Is that the 03-04 style? that pigtail looks to be what ls1nova71 described? I will post a picture of what I got tonight. I may have to go back and look as I didn't see anything in the engine compartment that is why i had to get under the dash.

Re: New to me 6.0
Yeah, that one that Mongo posted is the 2003-up style. The 2001-2 is all plastic. This is mine, pay no attention to the broken off ear of it, that's what happens when you do something stupid... LOL! The black box you got if it was right u der the column is the BCM, they can be made to do fun things!

Re: New to me 6.0
Thank you guys.
Ls1- was it mounted to the inter fender? The front clip was removed and sitting off to the side so maybe that's why I didn’t see it.

Re: New to me 6.0
No its definitely mounted on the firewall. There is a plastic bracket that is bolted on and then the TAC module just clips in it. Maybe someone already got it?

Re: New to me 6.0
The motor was pulled for me but I did remove the pedal and bcm.
I looked at the harness and found this box attached I didn’t see before. I am sure this is it. Does yours have 2 plug ins? Second picture is the BCM I pulled from under the dash.

Re: New to me 6.0
Yep that's the TAC and the one with 3 plugs is the BCM. Mine has 2 plugs but where its mounted it was hard to get a pic of them.

Re: New to me 6.0
So I am guessing I need to go back and get the other plug for the TAC module.

Re: New to me 6.0
Well only if you plan on ever giving it any throttle, it will idle just fine without it!
