does anyone run the stock cooling fan on a 5.3 swap? if so does the small block fan shroud work with it?.

Re: stock cooling fan

I usually run the stock fan. Fits the fan shroud and never had any cooling problems, even with the A/C on.

Re: stock cooling fan

Thanks I was hoping I could use a stock shroud. I was worried that the fan was a little too low.Is yours from a 6cyl or a small block? I have a champion aluminum rad but I think a shroud will work
thanks Bryan

Used the factory Fan from the 5.3 with the 1985 SBC fan shroud. Mine fit perfectly but it might depend on the mounting plates you use. I lucked out and got a no-name set off eBay that worked but do not remember the vendor.

Re: stock cooling fan

I used the 6.0 clutch fan in my 1968 suburban
I would replace the thermostat clutch as I did have mine go bad. It wouldnt engage and pull air.
