The biggest problem with the 4-5-6 trucks is the rear of the frame splays in & out which makes mounting spring hangers on the side a PITA.
I saw a set of S10 rear spring hangers on a 66 truck once, and it wasn't pretty & it was left 2wd.
I have done this but I put the (Custom Fabbed) rear hangers UNDER the frame rails & squared them up w/ short blazer springs.
It sat so high I had to spring under the rear axle.
