Color?
How Yall doing today!
I have scrounged up enough parts to put a mid 80s short stepper 4wd together for my grand son outta my parts pile. Only I don't have is a good front bumper & a rear drive shaft. I got two questions: I have a straight front bumper the chrome has rusted off of. Anybody ever have a bumper rechromed to their satisfaction? Next this is gonna be a plain truck. I was thinking med blue the regular gm truck color. I don't know if the truck would be straight enough to paint black or not. But I can't recall ever seeing a short stepper painted silver. I was thinking silver w/ 1970 black Chevelle stripes on the hood. Any yall ever see a short stepper painted silver? Thanks |

Re: Color?
here is my 2wd fleetside in a super close to sunoco gas blue . last pic i found online years ago . i will add the white stripe in a wrap job over the blue .
and mine the paint has tons of orange peal yet . still needs a good wet sand / block out and buff . this blue changes color a depending on the light source . its a solid no metalic .

Re: Color?
Hey that's pretty!
Yeah mine will have no metallic if it gets painted blue. I have found that the med blue just don't weather well & this truck is gonna hafta live outside. I like your color better. is it bc/cc or single component? If it's single component I'd like the paint code from you. |

Re: Color?
have to see if i can dig up the code .
its a ppg industrial and uv stable for outside . its a thicker paint and single stage with hardener and reducer when mixed up to spray . i just went to the paint store on a 100% sunny day no clouds and used the toyota super bright white as a contrast chip to compare the blue to . in the store i got it down to 6 colors . then outside it was quick to drop to this 1 color . and its super close to them sunoco racing gas stickers they give out at the nascar events .

Re: Color?
Thanks! Those Chevelle stripes would look good in white on your blue!

Re: Color?
I had a 74 Chevy C/10 in Hawaiian Blue as my first vehicle back in '84. Original GM color.
It's a great color. Medium blue, not metallic.
