Today I decided I was going to check the a/c system for missing parts etc, as I bought it disconnected, well the only thing thats altered is the hoses that normally goe to the heater core have been removed.
My question is, how should I attack this, It does'nt have any freon in the system, so how can I clean the system out, or does it even need it as the lines were all closed off
Im going to use freeze12, a product thats on ebay, but I really want to do this right, so what steps would you recommend.

Best thing to do since it is down is to replace the hoses if they look old and dry. Then run an a/c system purge chemical through it, then evac and refill. It is easiest to have it done if you don't have access to the tools. Also, since it is down you might want to replace the reciever/dryer. total cost should be about $100 for hoses, $45 for reciever/dryer. Check the price of freon before buying freeze 12.

I found the reciever/dryer for $55
I thought they outlawed the r12 in california some years back, but I couldnt say for sure, as I spent the last 3 years working out of state, 1 year in denver and the last 2 in Reno, my next couple will be in arizona starting in july

Ok, I just checked the suction and discharge hose's and they look real good, no checking. Seems like all I'll need is the heater hoses. Do you think its necessary to change the gaskets on the heater/ac box?
Also, I spun the pulley on the compressor gently, and although spins freely, there is a squeek to it as if theres a bearing race or something thats dry
