LQ4 317 cracked head.

My LQ4 6.0 has a cracked head on the driver side. Fluid is leaking out where the exhaust manifold bolts on. I’m currently looking for a used set of 317 heads. My question is what heads will bolt right up without changing pushrods or rocker arms. The truck is not going to be a race truck or anything. I just wanna know what heads are interchangeable for an easy swap. Thanks 🙏

since you 317s, any cathedral head will bolt on and work.

243 / 799 / 823
706 / 862 / 895

Those will bolt on and work with everything that you have.

These will bolt on, but your valve covers will not
853 / 806 / 933

Re: LQ4 317 cracked head.

Thanks for the great information. Out of that list of heads, which one do I keep an eye out for? (my best option)

Thanks again

stock or 243s i think. 243 would be an upgrade. fairly certain 799 heads are the exact same as 243s but people argue about it cause internet.

Re: LQ4 317 cracked head.

I just grabbed some 706 heads locally for $80! Thanks for all the great information. I’m going to be up and running in no time.

Re: LQ4 317 cracked head.

706's will bump compression on a 6.0 from the smaller chamber. You'll wanna tune it anyway so might as well Put some cam behind that and take advantage of the bump in comp.
