83 k10 sub build

Alright everyone back at it again and this time with my uncles 83 k10 suburban we are rebuilding it with fresh drive train interior and paint.here’s the back story on it his brother bought it in the 90s form its original owner.and he used it as a hunting vehicle for a few years.than in 2003 he was killed in a house fire and the suburban was one of the few things that survived the fire.now my uncle wants to restore it and give it to his brothers son a gift.its a mess right now rockers are rusted out needs new fenders was a6.2 diesel but block is broken.he wants to build a 383 stroker.lift it and paint it already ordered over 2grand in parts this week.

So here’s an update on the suburban.over the past 2 weeks I pulled the front axle out of the truck got rid of the old springs and installed a long list of parts in the axle.tomorrow we are preparing to clean the frame firewall and axle for paint and then re install the axle with the new lift kit.

So for the engine we decided not to do a 383 stroker instead we are building a healthy 350 his goal is around 300hp.so my plans are to build a 350 .30 over with a set of 416 heads with1.94 and 2.02 valves 9.5. Compression cam headers and a edelbrock performer intake with a quadrajet.the block will hopefully go to the machine shop on Monday.should be fun to drive when we’re done.

Awesome progress and very cool build! Should be a great driver when all the mechanical work is done. What's your plans with the interior?
