New '68 K10 'Burb owner
Greetings!
Been lurking for awhile, time to say hello. Just acquired a '68 from the original owner. She has some pretty serious cancer in her rear quarters, But runs well with her #s matching 327. Had a '67 C10 longbed in Highschool. Love these trucks. |

Looking good, shame about the quarters. 3/4 ton?, Other specs?

Re: New '68 K10 'Burb owner
Thanks.
She's mostly stock other than the bumpers the PO had custom made years ago. D44 front, 12 bolt rear. Has a spring over. I'm planning 4" of lift and 1 ton axles eventually. ( thinking of going FF Dually rear.. ) Original #s matching 327 and SM465/t221. Manual steering too. A power steering conversion is planned as well as a junkyard TB/FI swap. The rear sheetmetal is an issuue... was thinking a solid 67-72 longbed (bed) might make a cost effective donor? I'd like to replace the rear plywood with steel anyway... Currently I'm trying to figure out my fuel sender wiring. She has a new tank, but the wiring in between the fuseblock and tank is... missing. The metal tab labled fuel is missing from the fuseblock too.. just an empty hole. Can I bypass the block and printed circuit and wire straight to the guage? It's the same 3 post GM used for eons... Still learning, but I love the simplicity in general. Nice to be able to crawl ino the engine bay and sit on a fenderwell to work again.. |
