1967 stepper back from the paint shop GM 506 blue
Painted the truck back in December and just now got all the trim etc installed. Used GM 506 medium blue as I believe this is the original color. The interior is untouched and the SPID indicates 501-506 as original.
Removed the bed and replaced the original bed wood. Had a heck of a time getting the left fender to fit correctly. Paint and body guy said it was probably an aftermarket fender with slight difference in the length. Wish I had known that before paint.... I would have replaced it. New rocker panels, door seals, windshield and rear window gaskets, hood hinges. Amazed to find how the "no rust" rocker panels were rotted out and full of bondo, once the paint was sanded down. Overall it turned out great and I didn't spend a huge sum for a show quality paint job. Now if Wheel Vintiques could just ship me the wheel they promised back in August of 2018, I could get the wider wheels and tires on the truck. |

I love the color. Is that metallic or solid?

That looks great. I would love to zoom around Arizona in that rig.

A truck in Dress Blues. Love it.
If it was my project, I might have an artist put a Red pinstripe on the lower quarter panel lines -- where the Custom trin chrome runs. Unlike the chrome icing, he could follow the pattern around the step fenders.

Yup. But for a boy from New England it was just that much cooler in an old truck...

Re: 1967 stepper back from the paint shop GM 506 blue
A good friend of mine had a 67 LWB same color. Hw was older than my Dad, and passed away about 15 years ago...His was perfect, and pristine just a the pictures of OP'ers is, AND pictures of this color don't begin to show how REALLY awesome this color is!!!
My buddies son has had his old pickup since his Dad's death. It is in Marietta, Georgia, if anyone ever sees it around there. Not likely it gets driven much... |

What a beauty, dig the early rear bumper. Are those 16" wheels?
Specs on tire&wheel, and drive train, please |

Drivetrain is stock and original. 283 2 barrel with 4 speed box. Diff is 3.73. No PS or PB, which at my age I wish I had. Rear bumper probably '66 but looks good so I left it that way. Front lowered 2" rear 4" with springs from ECE.Rides pretty nice. Truck goes right down the road with not a rattle or squeak. |

Re: 1967 stepper back from the paint shop GM 506 blue
Sounds like a plan. My 67 has the wheels matching the top of the cab.
Thought about lowering mine, but it just rides so nice right now. Also power nothin, I see it as exercise driving |

Were the red wheels an original design option or an owner's touch?

Red wheels - no idea if an option. Previous owner probably painted them that way. Rear bumper - I have seen several early '67 steppers with the '66 bumper, but am told they never came from the factory that way. |

I think it looks good now , but the wider wheels will look great. Are you using the same caps? , and what tires are you going with?
