close to the end, but need some help...

hi guys,
I got the motor in, but I need a little help with the brackets and a few wires I didn't notice the first time around:

pic1: how should the power steering and ac go on there, I have the other brackets, but can't figure them out....

pic2: what is this red connector, it comes out the firewall with the tranny wires, but splits into the trans connector and this one

pic3: This a vaccuum connection to this module on the firewall, do I need to reconnect it, what's it do?

thanks,

jason

the wire and thing on the firewall go to the lockup controls on your tranny. i took all of mine off of my th350c.

Yeah, like 1aastc10 said, the red wire looks like the egr bleed sol. connector. The other thing mounted on the firewall is your VAC TIP IN switch. I have an 85 305 also and you probably have (used to have) electronic spark control mounted above the glove box. The switch went in to that along with some other stuff. If you ripped out the ESC then you don't need it. Check the original emission sticker under the hood and you'll see it. Good luck...

your A/C bracket is mounted one hole too high. Move it down. There should be another bracket thet bolts over the #1 exhaust port. Then put a stud in the lowest hole in the front of the head, and hang the P/S pump from that. The slide towards the pass. side should liune up with the tapped hole in the water pump, under the two bolts that hold teh water pump on the block. Clear as mud? Should fall right into place.

thanks all, I got it all hooked up today. The brackets fell in pretty easily after sleeping on it and looking at a few pics here and on ebay. Even got it to crank over tonight!!! big moment. It caught for a second on ether, but wouldn't do much else. At least it seems the timing is right.

ONE more ?: do I need to reconnect that vac line somewhere since I am still running the ESC setup.

I will drop that egr connector.

thanks!

If you're gonna keep the ESC, yeah you should hook up the tip in swtich. I believe it goes to manifold vacuum. If the original emissions sticker is there, it should show it or I attached the one from my truck. You may want to think about bagging the ESC, it messes with your timing. I had trouble with mine. There is any easy way to bypass it.

Taking the TCC off of the 350c isn't that big of a problem but I sugest you run a tranny cooler. On the 700R4 however it is a problem since the trans was designed with the TCC in it (350 was upgraded to have it). Without the TCC the transmission will run significantly hotter on highway speeds and will fry pretty easily if you drive at high speed at constant rpm/throttle pos. If you feel the TCC is annoying put a switch in the circuit so you can turn if off and back on for long highway cruises.
