I hear talk of front differentials so I assume it is a four wheel drive truck. Do you know if it has a posi-traction unit in the front differential? Issues with a posi (binding/dragging) could result in the slight pushing you are feeling at the beginning of turns. Just a thought.

^^ I hadn't even considered anything to do with a front drive axle but that brings up more possibilities. If it is a 4x4 truck, simply having the hubs locked in, even in 2WD, can make steering & braking have a slightly different feel. I guess front diff problems or issues with one or both locking hubs could throw even more into the mix.
