MAF difference between years
Guys I need to purchase a complete MAF system because my LS(lm7) didn't come with one. I'm going stock for now with plans to throw a few upgrades later but nothing major so stock MAF seems the way to go. However I'm wondering are there differences in the MAF sensors in different year LS engines that might be better than other models?
I'm running an LM7 5.3l with stock harness and pcm from a 2003 suburban. Thanks.

Re: MAF difference between years
'99-'06 are all the same, just get one of those and call it a day.

Re: MAF difference between years
I'm partial to the newer blade style MAF's (fwiw I don't run a MAF at all). The 99-06 are direct fit, the others can work but need to include the Temp sensor, or use a relocated IAT or switch to a TMAP.

Re: MAF difference between years
Hey guys I didn’t want to high jack the thread but it’s on the same topic. I have a 2008 out of a 1500 truck and the stock MAF is long. I want to change it and I have a lq9 sitting on my shop floor with a shorter MAF that uses a similar but not exact type 5 pin connector. I need something short and this would fit better it’s about 2” shorter. See pictures.
Could I just change the pigtail to the older style and put a new short style MAF?
