Re: Lowering My 69 c10..
The 6” front static drop is doable with the right size wheels.
But I think adding the pancaked crossmember will make it too low without bags to raise it up. I did a 5.5” front drop with a 26” front tire and the lower control arms were only 2.5” off the ground.

Re: Lowering My 69 c10..
One of the things I like best about my 69 C10 is with a 4.5"/7" drop and 27: front 29" rear tires I drive it everywhere with no worries.
Don't make the mistake (IMO) of going so low you don't drive it all the time.

Re: Lowering My 69 c10..
On my previous truck, I started with a 2/4 drop. I kept going down after the initial build... Added drop springs (started with spindles) in front and back, put in a C-notch, and kept going lower with the rear via blocks.
I have noticed that ride quality kept going down the lower I got the truck. In the end, it didn't ride very well at all. So, that's why I went with a new full frame on the current truck. It's lower than my first C-10, and drives/rides much better. Just be careful, and ride in someone else's truck lowered the way you want to go prior to installation. Make sure it's what you want. Best of luck. Last edited by darrellyates; 02-06-2019 at 12:22 AM. Reason: spelling... |
