84 Owners- What are you doing for sound?

Hey folks,
my 84 has a Kenwood cd player in the dash with a speaker box behind the seat and two speakers that look like computer speakers in the corners behind the seat.
I am looking to put in a nice stereo without cutting holes. Not looking to shatter glass or sound like a bass machine, just clean, quality sound. Prefer something with a USB.
So, what are you running and recommending?
TIA,
Kevin

Retro Sound radio. I put new Kenwood speakers under the dash, when I had it out. And the speakers behind the seat were from the previous owner, can’t remember the name.

I had kick panels made to hold a component set of 6.5's/1" and put a 12" sub behind the seat with 5 channel amp. Sounds fantastic.

They are 3.5" in the dash sides and 4x10" in the rear corners behind the seat

Go to www.crutchfield.com , enter your vehicle info, then look at speakers from low to high price wise. They will sell you what fits your vehicle including any wiring adapters needed, plug and play.

Finding good "stock" speakers will be a tall order for a 35 year old vehicle, especially considering the oem speakers of that era had paper cones.

Re: 84 Owners- What are you doing for sound?

I put 4" Pioneer speakers in the dash corners (they fit) and put 6x9's in the back using these brackets.

The 6x9's sound 100x's better than 4x10's.

I'm willing to pay the "tall order" went onto the GM Parts Giant website and they still sell the Center and Rear Speakers That are Genuine for $48.
Just, not the Front tweeters.

Welp Said nothing fits... So Guess I'm going genuine! nothing but the best.

I hope you get them. Every time I try and order anything from them, the website hasn't been updated, so they actually don't have the parts. But if you have the rear brackets, why not just get new modern speakers? Those are just paper cone speakers. Any of these 4x6's will fit.

Just curious why you want factory speakers with 40yr old tech instead of new stuff?

t Amazon for speakers. I have a nice set of 4x10's in mine till I get some 6 x 9's. I'm sending my radio to a GM repair center to have my factory center fixed.
