Do you or anyone else know if those 16inch trim rings will fit on a det of 16.5 inch wheels. If they do I may be interested.

I've got a 292 and am told the stands off a 250 are different and are the ones to use when mounting a v8 in the six cylinder position, I used the 292 ones but had to punch some holes in the suspension crossmember. I am putting disc suspension in with a new crossmember and would like to find some 250 stands.

Yep, same wheels...I'd love to have 'em, but it might be awhile before I could get 'em. If you can wait, consider them sold.

The book I have says your Q-Jet is a '78. All Rochesters with the "170" prefix are 1976 and later. The ones with "70" prefix are 1975 and earlier. I don't mean to butt in, it just saves disappointment for someone looking for the correct carb for their truck.

Im sorry but your mistaken either your book is Wrong or your reading it wrong that carb came off an original 72 3/4 ton and the 78 carbs have a completley different style of choke this one has the coil that mounts on the intake manifold I hate to argue but im gonna have to on this one I removed it from the truck.

stands

To mount a v8 in the 6 cyl postion you need to swap sides and turn them around backwards.Mounted this way the 6 drive shaft is a perfect fit with a short shaft th350 and the 6s auto linkage is perfect fit also. You will also need longer 6 speedo cable. This sets the v8 back 7 inchs from factory but will make your truck handle and hookup 100% better. Also 6 drive shart is one piece and elminates carrier bearing,if I remember correct 6 drive shaft is 561/4 inches if you don't have one this is what you will need. This is the E ticket for a street truck.I had continuous problems with carrier bearing and not being able to get my truck to "hook" until I set up my truck this way.
