where to get Under bed gas tank??
I am looking for a under bed mounted fuel cell or gas tank. I am mostly concerned with fit and price. Can you guys tell me where you got yours, what it is made of (poly, aluminum, ss), about how much it cost, how it has held up and fit. I am really trying to keep is as cheap as possible. 17 year old budget...
Thanks

Hey Longstep,
With the step bed you can't use most of the aftermarket steel tanks that are commonly found in these trucks because most only fit fleetside beds. Can't say that I have seen any in a stepside. Simplest, best fit would be a factory tank from a Blazer or Suburban. Then of course, you have to find a place for your spare. ;-) The best and safest would be a tank that fits inside the frame like all newer trucks. Any tank outside the frame is a fireball waiting to happen if you get T-boned right there. The crossmember for the coil spring swingarms makes finding an in-frame tank even harder than a leaf spring truck. I am presently looking for an in-frame tank for my 72 K20. Very curious if anyone has found a particular factory tank that is a good fit. Not particularly looking forward to moving one of the pipes & Flowmaster to the other side, but it would be better than installing the two "fireball" tanks again.
