70 Carb ?
Can anyone tell me if a 70 model truck with a 350 engine has only the metal gasket under the carburetor?

Re: 70 Carb ?
My 1970 350 has the original q-jet with a 1/4" heat insulating gasket. Not sure if it's original though. It's fairly old.

Should have the 1/4 inch thick gasket between the carb and the manifold to prevent the carb from getting too hot and boiling the fuel.

Re: 70 Carb ?
I've been researching this since I replaced my carb gasket on Friday. The preferred gasket is about 1/4" thick with an open center. Fel-Pro 60249 is what I used.
You will need to look at the intake manifold. I heard there are some manifolds that have a heat vent port that require the metal gasket and a standard gasket on the top and bottom of the metal gasket.

Re: 70 Carb ?
Some info here plus pics of the intake with the hot slot that needs a metal gasket.

Re: 70 Carb ?
Good post. Lars Grimsrud knows his stuff. Just about any time I'm looking for Q-Jet stuff, I find one of his posts.
