67 c10 needing frame straightening
Hey I've read a lot on people's post about straightening the frame on the 67 c10. I just purchased this truck and the frame is bent down just behind the cab on the passenger side. It's causing the bed to sit low in the far rear passenger side. Is this frame worth the time and money to straighten? It is the original frame. And would anybody know of a body shop that would be willing to fix a 67 frame in or around Gaston county nc area? That would be really helpful. I'm not wanting it to be a show truck just straight! In 10 years I'd like to restore the truck back to original with my 2 boys and girl. Any input would be appreciated for I'd like to keep this truck in the family for a long time.

Re: 67 c10 needing frame straightening
Call your local bodyshop and they will tell you who local to you has a frame machine and would be willing to do it for you , plan on $350.00 just to set it up on the machine and then it's just $$ by the hour . As long as the frame doesn't have any issues other than being bent *rust* it's way faster and less expensive to save it . Use the search box ^ and check out Chevy lean ,It's pretty common on these old trucks.

Thanks for the input, I'll continue looking for a shop to do the repairs. Just want this truck to be around so my kids can enjoy it.

Re: 67 c10 needing frame straightening
to me its cheaper to find another frame.the 1967 was the bad year. The power steering was not offered in the first 1967 truck frames suburbans.they had power assisted steering witch you had the ram.the 1968 frames had the box.

Re: 67 c10 needing frame straightening
Thanks for the info. I did find a body shop specializing in older vehicles so I'm taking it to them and see what they say about it. Then go from there.

Re: 67 c10 needing frame straightening
My 68 has a bow from years of being used hard. It is to the point that the PO removed the core support bushings just to get the fenders to half way line up. Grumpy's price was spot on I was told the same price. I am going to wait a few hundred miles to let my new springs and suspension to "settle in" before I have it done and have the frontend re aligned.
