Column to console ignition swap

I'm building a center console in my '80 C10. The truck was originally an automatic, column shift. Currently, the console has a B&M shifter that has a neutral safety switch and a reverse/backup light switch. I also have an ignition on/off switch with a push button starter. None of these are wire yet and that's where I need your help.

I want to move the following functions from the column to the console: ignition, start, neutral safety, backup.

I want to leave the following on the column: turn indicators, hazard.

I want to delete the following from the column: key/tumbler, locking steering, accessory.

I've searched through these forums, but I cannot find a simple wire diagram that will help me determine what wires I need to adapt to my new console switches. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Re: Column to console ignition swap

I can't help on the neutral safety or backup, as my experience is exclusively with manuals.

The turn signal and hazard is it's own connector, and you'd be leaving that alone.

The ignition switch will be removed in its entirety, and its wires extended to your new switches. If you unplug the ignition switch, you're left with two plastic connectors. Each connector has a handful of Packard 56 female terminals inside. Unpin those connectors, and plug each terminal into a new male packard 56. This allows you to extend the wires to the new switches without trying to solder and heat-shrink wires under the dash.

Look for Hatzie's signature to find links to wiring manuals that he's digitized. Study those to determine what wires go where.
