Question

How close can your rear axle be to the frame without getting into a frame notch on a 82 c10
I need another inch and a half lower

I would say a couple or 3in at the least....heavy loads or rough roads will have effect on it as well....

I like 3" before anything touches. You can get by with less but for a trouble free, no contact suspension I would shoot for the 3" number.

If you wanna run close to the frame. Get 2015+ Silverado 1500 bump stops.

They are soft. When I removed my rear block, and added longer shackles I had 1/2 inch travel left. So before I cut out that stand I was constantly on the bump stops,and honestly. It did not ride 1/2 bad.

So I would get a pair, and weld them in so you have a 1- 1 1/2" of travel before you hit them.
