The thread title is misleading. Silverado is just a trim level. Doesn’t have anything to do with the engine. Doesn’t have any thing to do with 10/20/30 series truck.
A better question would be, did the 305 come in the c10/k10? I’ll throw in, my 85 k10 left the factory with a 5.0. |

I own an 86 k10 with the 305/7004r combo... even has 3.08 gears. I very rarely use overdrive, and it is extremely anemic.... may be the slowest v8 powered anything ive ever had... BUT it starts great in sub 0 cold, andthe 4wd works great too!!! I have an 83 c30 srw for pulling duties...

So - if anyone still cares at this point - the answer is:
Yes - in a K10 with California emissions. I should add that one could purchase a vehicle with CA emissions for Federal use. There were no restrictions against that, and we used to do it all the time in order to get the larger cubic inch engine (and then immediately rip off all the emissions controls). K

305 if it's an LE9 is a great motor if you take advantage of that high compression! I had a 305 LE9/7004 with a 3.08 gear in a K10. After I replaced the flat cam with a Summit K1101 it did well! Had good power and TC stayed locked up on all but the steepest highway grades.
