Re: Power Steering Hookup Question
Sorry to revive this old thread but it helped me and might can help someone else. Clinebarger you saved the day with your advise. I did unscrew the old adapter from 67 and put it newer 03 5.3 power steering pump. It screwed right in easy, peasy. Thanks for your wisdom again.

Re: Power Steering Hookup Question
Can you use a fitting to attach the hose from stock gear box to the hose on the 05 pump

Re: Power Steering Hookup Question
Reviving this again...so I took everyone's advice and swapped my LS pressure fitting out for the old SBC one...only to find that my steering gear is from a later model and uses o-ring style fittings going into the gear rather than flared. Can I go ahead and swap the LS fitting back in and use hoses from a newer truck? What would be the best way to handle this?

Re: Power Steering Hookup Question
I always run the newer boxes because they are less turns lock to lock. You can get lines from an '81-87 that will be o ring type that will fit both the box and the LS pump.

Re: Power Steering Hookup Question
You say LS pump, meaning LS fitting?

Re: Power Steering Hookup Question
Got my lines switched over the weekend. Honestly, the one's from the 81-81 trucks fit better than the 67-72. I also put the LS pressure fitting back in. All is good!
