Windshield washer pump question
After battling with another replacement washer pump I decided to go with a external pump. I picked up a pump and reservoir off a mid 90's OBS truck. I searched and found how to wire it up to the original switch but for some reason I can't find it now. Does anyone by chance have the wiring diagram info?

I used the same tank and pump on my truck, you'll really like it.

72LB, is this how yours is/will be set up? Like Katrina/10 said, a big improvement.

Re: Windshield washer pump question
This is what I do.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=714339 Then unplug the one in the pic, run a new harness so I do not have to cut anything, Blue is Ground, Yellow is Hot. Runs off the switch like a normal one would. Way better than a universal one. Smitty

Re: Windshield washer pump question
Finished it up today, I did the same as you did with the harness Meangreen. The squirters have some serious power, big improvement.

Mid 90's Chevy(OBS) truck.
I keep it there to have it handy to check the oil or trans.

Re: Windshield washer pump question
Thanks! I think if I aimed them right I could spray the cars windshield behind me.

Re: Windshield washer pump question
You need to add the nozzle off the back of a Tahoe to the wiper arms so it sprays the whole window. This is mine. I did these 20 years ago with the electric pump mod.

Re: Windshield washer pump question
This is a very timely thread for me. I just got my wiper motor and washer pump installed, but I don't like the clanking of the cam on the washer pump. I also suspect I'll have pump problems in the future with the OE design, so I ordered an AC-Delco 89001112 (same as Trico 11100) and will either fab a sheet metal stand-off bracket to use the stock mounting holes on the wiper motor while clearing the cam, or strip the existing washer pump and reuse its stamped frame like on this thread:

Re: Windshield washer pump question
Yes those will work just fine. I take and boil some water and drop the nozzles in it let them warm up good and take them and place on the arm with vise grips to make them mold to the arm.

Re: Windshield washer pump question
Wow, great info fellas. I think I'll be doing this mod in the near future. While I was on Rock Auto looking at the s-10 tanks, I noticed the coolant tanks look like they'd work well in our trucks too.
