Stock ride height measurements for 1968 Chevy C10
I am wanting to order lowering springs for my 1968 Chevy C10 but I am not sure if the springs on it are stock or not.
Does anybody have any measurements of what the stock ride height should be? Like some measurements from the ground to the frame on the rear and front of the truck or anything like that? |

Stock ride hight depends on what engine and trans you have. The wight will make a difference in hight.

have original but tired suspension and on the passenger side two broken leaves so its lower. 72 wide body.
Measures are from the ground to the highest of the wheel well arc. These numbers are relevant to me. Im just researching leaf springs and there is a fair bit to it when you start asking questions. my tires are all 28" tall. 400 Small block. 3 speed trans. 31 3/4 Driver front 31 Passenger front 32 Driver Rear 30 7/8 Passenger rear, this side with broken leaves, |

I believe a better way to measure would be the center of the axle to wheel arch. That’s suspension height and limits variables from wheels and tires.

If you want to lower the truck, look at LOTS of photos of other's trucks and make a decision based on how you wish your truck to sit.

There were also heavy duty spring options too. My 69 stepside was originally a 6-cylinder 3-speed C10 but sat higher than my 69 K10 did with the same tires on it. The stepside was ordered with HD springs as a fleet vehicle for a utility company.

Re: Stock ride height measurements for 1968 Chevy C10
I have a low mileage, stock 1/2 ton 68 with more or less stock sized tires. How about if I measure from the ground to the top of the wheel wells?
