Hi,
Could anyone give me an idea of a far price for a 7 bolt all syncro trans in working order is worth? It is a running take out it has not been resealed or inspected by a professional.

Is this an early trans, or the later New Process 4spd OD manual from '81-87 trucks?
The later trans is $125-$150, up to $250 complete with bellhousing and shifter.
Those are the prices I see at my NE GA Swap Meet, and last week at the Charlotte Auto Fair.

Is it a 3 speed with a Borg Warner overdrive? Do you have all the cable, switches, relay and other parts?

I'll chime in. In my area, a 7 bolt side cover, saginaw 3 speed transmission with the borg warner OD, is pretty rare. Without a thorough inspection however, the value is hard to nail down.

First thing I would do since it is out of the vehicle, is the remove the side cover and inspect the gears, making sure they are not rusty, chipped, or in any way damaged. Do the same with the overdrive solenoid and governor, also try bench testing them. If the planetary gears in the the OD section of the transmission are working correctly, along with the transmission itself and the above mentioned OD components, you will have a pretty valuable transmission there.

They are gaining in value as less and less of them are being found these days. Not everyone's cup of tea, but for those that want one, you will be able to ask at least $500, if not more. I believe they were only made from 67 til early 70's?

My opinion is all I'm giving, but I have seen several on Ebay recently, and they were all asking for more than $500 for them. Good luck, I hope you have a solid, fully functioning overdrive there.

I was lucky enough to find a 4 bolt in nice shape with all the things you need to hook it up except the relay for $300 plus shipping, 7 bolts are more rare.
