License Plate Holder Light Problem...
Restoring my 1972 4X4 and discovered that the light does not even look close to original. What does the factory one look like?

Looks correct to me. That is what I have always seen for a marker lamp.

That looks home made.
Here a pic of mine. I can't get a good pic of the top cuz the tailgate is in the way. One note, I welded a new light socket into my housing cuz the old one was bad, so my protuberating socket it not like original, and I painted it silver, it was gold cad plated.

That light sure is for a step bumper, my truck has a step bumper and that round one is the exact same one that's on it.

side note:
the light you need was also used on 73-87 blazers & subs. I think they are avail. at parts stores new, if you want to do some searching.

The light and bucket was also used on 70's and 80's vans which are a dime a dozen at boneyards.
