Custom Dash
Has any one made a custom dash? I am looking for ideas to replace my dash with a dash from a 59 thru 67 Chevy car dash.
My truck is an "85 GMC stepside. |

Re: Custom Dash
I have seen a guy do it, and it can be tricky. I lack the art in order to imagine parts like that, but I am trying to learn.
First you have to cut the dash to 3-4 sections. The center the steering wheel, and place the glove box where it traditionally goes. Then fab the missing sections along with what you have left. Personally I would go for a 69-72 style car dash which to my eye matches the modern look of the truck. The 72-80 D100 has a nice car like dash that fits very well with the vehicle aesthetics. You probably get some hard foam, and give you dash some eyebrows like a 69 Camaro dash. Then you would only have to fabricate a dash pad. |

Re: Custom Dash
I am considering a dash from a '64 Impala. Probably would need two dashboards to cutup.
Just looking for suggestions from anyone who has attempted customizing the dashboard. |

Re: Custom Dash
I have seen several folks use the 64-66 truck dash in a squarebody. This one by TXFirefighter is the only one I saved a link on.
