vacuum pump for power brakes

still doing my research for power brakes with low vacuum and came along with this vacuum pump and was wonder if anyone used one seams to be more simple than a hydroboost , I know older vacuum pupers were louder and some had decent good results, its a bit cheaper and keeps the engine bay cleaner looking. click the youtube link and tell me what you think

haven't run the motor yet but the cam that is in it is know for 10-11" of vacuum. the only thing that i have going for me is it has a T56 tranny so its not like a automatic where you constantly have to be on the brake pedal while in traffic. but I image I will need some type of vacuum assist

Been here, just finished fixing this issue.
On the first video, I have the first pump shown, the old loud one and that is exactly how loud it is. I hated it. I tried manual brakes, and unless you go with a huge costly highend brake system, no thank you. So I settled on Hydroboost system. I really like it a lot. This was all on my "69 C10 and now I am building a "66 C10 that will also have hydroboost.
The silent vacuum is nice, no doubt, I just like the really responsive hydroboost brakes.

I had a big block with low vacuum in my C10 so I installed hydroboost.

My neighbor has a '74 Nova with a small block and a cam. His car has had vacuum issues its whole life. He has been through a lot of vacuum accumulators and also did the vacuum pump. But his brakes were always a "cross your fingers" type of experience.

Last time he was over in my garage he was grilling me about hydroboost setup, performance, companies etc.

I don't know your brake setup. I've done things listed above when running a big cam. Vacuum accumulators are a band aid at best. I've done a couple of hot rods with hydro boosts. They have worked very well. Also you may consider a manual brake cylinder. Properly designed/sized it will stop most vehicles quite nicely. It just takes more pressure on the pedal to stop. Over on LS1tech the go to brake guy is KORE3. I would give him a call if you considering a manual setup.

I just installed the Leeds pump in my BB truck, I had basically manual brakes, despite the booster due to the cam in my motor, The system works well.

I did T off and kept the vacuum line from the intake, with check values, in case of were to fail, still have vacuum off the intake even if it is low.
mounted it up on the radiator support , it blends in, don’t even see it. Pump is quiet and has a built in pressure switch. Brakes work great now

Thanks for the feed back, I'll go this route , if for some reason it doesnt work out I could always go the hydroboost route
