Cross-member for 700R4

Want to install a 700R4 in my 1980 C-10 which has a 350 trans now, will the same cross-member work for the 700??

yes it will, u just to move it some, and redrill holes in the frame. im not shure if it needs to be move foward or backwards or if its fine were it is. on our chevelle it came with a 350 and when we put in the 700R4 we just moved the crosmember to fit, same thing with my bros 89 that had a TH475 in it. we love the 700R4 around here!

I did this in an 84 and an 86 Chevy truck, just move the crossmember and drill holes. The problem is that it has been awhile and I don't remember which direction.

I just had this conversation with my brother-in-law tonight. He said the same thing. He couldn't remember which way to move it either.

What about the lock up switch? He suggested getting a factory vacuum pressure switch and harness. What else is needed besides modding the drive shaft?

i prefer to use a toggle switch, that way u can unlock and lock it at your pleasure
