Hey guys- great info on your thread. I’m doing an LT swap in a 70 Suburban. I really do not want to change the oil pan and I am trying to leave everything on my motor as stock as possible. Are you guys aware of any motor mounts out there that allow you to keep the stock pan on the motor? Thanks!

I’m getting some motor mounts made to make these headers slip right in and keep the vacuum. Gentlemen named Jaime from Metaltek is making them.

f.flugan - good move on the MetalTek mounts. I tried the DD Gliders and they left the motor way too high in the air and at a rediculous angle. I saw your post and have contacted Jaime to get the same mounts. Thanks for posting that! The DD's are going back!

I'm waiting on Jaime Neibarger from Metaltek to start shipping. Getting motor mounts for L83 and trans mount for 6L60.

I got mine on EBAY - 67-72 high hump transmission cover - $99. Does not come with fasteners so I got this set (Retro-Motive GM Truck Body Bolts & U-nut Clips- 5/16" x 13/16" Long- 1/2" Hex- 20 pcs- #392) on Amazon that works really well. Has just the right number of fasteners.

I'm reasonably computer savvy but I can't figure out for the life of me how to copy the actual link to the Amazon page. Hope the above info helps.

I have built several small blocks, but this engine is a whole new learning curve for me. I assumed with the Metaltek mounts that the engine would sit a little higher and you validated that a 72 C10 will need more room for the trans. Thanks!

That's me. Old school iron block that takes about 3 wires to make it run. This LT swap has definitely been new territory and I'm learning something new every day. You will want to use the Holley 302 oil pan if you havent learned that already. I hated having to change the factory pan but it was the only way to do it right.

Trying to figure out the gas pedal situation for a 70 Suburban L83 swap. My harness is wired for the 2015 factory truck pedal but I sure don't see a very good way to mount the pedal. What's everyone doing for these?

Mine is from a 2008.
I used the original plastic pedal with modifications.
I still have to bend the pedal rod to make it straight with the brake pedal.

You have use the OEM style gasket sealer, it is offered in many brands. This engine has the pick up tube built into the pan with a seal on it. The pan and engine have machined flat surfaces, a gasket between there would allow extra space at the pick up tube seal.

Took Holley pan to a parts store and there is one that matches up at every point except it is not long enough. It had the two holes for the oil.
Anyway, I bought the rtv to put the pan on and the other two lock tight and thread seal as per Holley's instruction sheet.

I used a pedal from a SS Camaro 10-15. about 50 dollars off ebay. Its a straight pedal and makes it easier to mount. The wiring is slightly different though. Just have to move some wires at the pedal connector.

wanna have some real fun, yes i am putting one in a 68 c10 right now, but mine will have a 6 speed manual, i had a lt1 old style 97 model and am converting the lt 756 to ls t56 and put it behind the l83,
thanks to jason at texas drivetrain performance, psi wiring harness, gas pedal and a few other parts, speed engineering headers and mounts,
got a ways to go but soon will be driving

Can you tell me the actual changes You made? I can’t find what my 14 L83 requires to make my 13 Malibu pedal work.

Just rewire pedal, that's it.. get the 2 diagrams and match em up. I havnt used the malibu pedal yet so cant give pinouts on that one.
