New member from France

Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum and to the chevy truck scene but wanted one for years.
I bought a one owner 1972 patina chevrolet c20 from Arizona.
The truck is on his way to France.
I think about doing a preservation/light mod restoration, not sure yet.
I'll need advices so I'll create a build thread.
Please find few photos of the truck.
Cheers

Welcome Klass6,
I think it's awesome that you want one of these great old American trucks. But I'm curious;
Were you born and raised in France?
Will you drive it in the city, countryside or both?
Are there a lot of French folks who also enjoy these old trucks?

Re: New member from France

Hi Lux
Thanks.
Yes 100% French but love american cars since I was a kid as one of my father's friend used to drive few of them as daily driver.
This kind of truck is a bit tricky to drive in French narrow city center...but its perfect for rural roads, highways and for going to the beach with a surfboard in the bed.
There is a huge US cars scene in France...mustang are on top of the list both old and new with corvette and camaro.
There are mostly week-end driver as gas price is a pain in the a##.
A US gallon of premium unleaded is around 5.85€ or $6.30.

I used to spend a lot of time in Italy. One of my Italian friends was interested in getting an old Camero. Because of the gas prices there he asked me if it was a good idea to swap the motor out for a smaller one. I had trouble explaining to him that is completely opposite of what an American does when thinking about swapping a motor. I found that funny.

Bonjour. That's very nice ! First thing you need is to get an antennae and a good sound system! Air conditioning, auto transmission, optional 350 ci (5.7 Ltr.) engine. Great truck there. Welcome to this excellent site. -Brian A

Re: New member from France

Bonjour Brian
Thank you.
What I need also is tires as they are dry and unfortunately they are hard to find 16.5'.
I think I'll swap to 16' for a wider choice.
