Oil Filter Location?

Looking into getting a spin-on type oil filter for my 47 (53/54 235...). My question is, where do you recommend placing it? I am also planning headers....Also, where is a good place to get one (part number?)?
Thanks

Re: Oil Filter Location?

A remote filter mount that goes on the firewall or inner fender that usually takes a Ford style filter is about all you need plus the correct hoses and fittings to hook it up.

Some examples here https://www.summitracing.com/parts/t...BoCdscQAvD_BwE

You can usually get the trans dapt ones from O'Reilly's and not have to pay shipping.

There are some fancier ones around if you want to spend more money.

sometimes available at a hydraulic shop as well, or farm supply, for less cashola. a hydraulic shop could fab the hoses and supply the fittings needed for you at the same time.

Re: Oil Filter Location?

DO a google search on oil filter for 235 Deve has some good stuff. Not cheap, but you need to make sure you use the right sized orifices to keep the pressure up.

He has a set up for Fenton headers. I have headers and rack and pinion and will see if I can get his system to work.

Looks cool. Check out his site

Re: Oil Filter Location?

I screwed around with the trans adapt and a few other die cast remote filter mounts and finally bought one from Canton racing (billet aluminum) that was the only one that was machined correctly and didn't have porosity leaks or something.
haven't had problems since. they will also set it up so it either takes a
gm or ford filter.
