Intermediate Shaft
Anyone order the Intermediate shaft from CPP?
I got it all installed with the new tilt column and went to put it in park and the shaft is too long. The little arm that connects to my linkage for my transmission hits the bracket that's bolted to the firewall. This is EXTREMELY frustrating. Why should I have to cut a shaft that is supposed to be for this 1972 Blazer? |

Re: Intermediate Shaft
Is the column aftermarket? Can you post some photos that show what and where the impingement is?

Re: Intermediate Shaft
It's a new column but made for these vehicles, and a new intermediate shaft, ordered from CPP (Classic Performance Products) through Scott's Super Trucks in Canada.

Re: Intermediate Shaft
Good deal. Just a heads up - there’s an oem clamp designed to secure the column at the firewall bracket. You may know that already if so,sorry.

Re: Intermediate Shaft
Might be some flex but I can’t imagine it breaking loose. Is there enough room to get a the strap in place without impinging sifting? I supposed a worm gear clamp could suffice as a temporary measure too.
