I'm going to go against the grain here...the second one grabs my eye, but I think the quilted look would also have to be carried elsewhere under the hood to really make it work. Maybe under the hood where hood insualtion ussually lives, valve covers tops, and/or breather. The more plain one could stand alone, however.

Grumpy's "shaved and smoothed" is certainly the most timeless option.
