Motor mounts are not lining up, what did I miss
I installed some LSX adapter plates, then some stock motor mounts.
The transmission is line up dead center in the middle of the cross member. The issue is the motor mounts don't line up. One side is off by 3/4" Yes I'm new to all this LS swap, but I can fab stuff as needed. Passenger side Driver side Engine placement Thanks in advance! |

Re: Motor mounts are not lining up, what did I miss
I called a friend who is a mechanic. He came by this afternoon and with some extra muscle we were able to get it lined up to the factory holes.
He said its not always easy to line up the motor mounts. Having a second pair of eyes helped too as I could push and pull and he could watch the holes line up. Thanks. |

Re: Motor mounts are not lining up, what did I miss
After my buddy left, I got thinking this would be a pain another day, so why not fix it why I have access.
I pulled a bolt and used a die grinder to open the frame bracket. Once I pull the bolt it was only off by 1/16 or so. The bolts drop in and sit straight now. I think I would run run 1/4" or 5/16" steel LS mounts to solve this problem next time. The 3/8" pushes the bracket over to much. On to the next issue LOL |
