1969 Rear Drop Question
Just acquired a new truck and am trying to figure out how much the rear of it is dropped.
I measured from the ground to top of the frame at the rear and its at 19 in with the bed on it. I believe it has a 6 in drop. |

Re: 1969 Rear Drop Question
The tire diameter is part of the formula using that dimension.. A more accurate method is to measure the distance between the axle tube and frame rail.. Compare that measurement to a stock (non-lowered) truck..

Re: 1969 Rear Drop Question
I just did what RustyPile suggested for you. Looks around six and a half inches on my stock height '70. Hope this gives you a rough idea.

Re: 1969 Rear Drop Question
Thank you for this also. I'd like to see what mine is looking like with the lowering blocks I bought it with...

Re: 1969 Rear Drop Question
Yuccales, thanks for the information.
Looks like your springs are a bit old. How long have they been on your truck? Are they original? Would love for others who have done a suspension restoration to stock to measure the same. Any takers? |

Re: 1969 Rear Drop Question
I will measure my 69 this afternoon. Pretty sure the springs are newer (within the last 30yrs anyways)

Re: 1969 Rear Drop Question
I measured mine which does have a notch in the frame but by best guess it's a 1.5" so that would be about a 5" drop. Thanks everyone

Re: 1969 Rear Drop Question
Sorry I forgot. Here’s mine. Between 7 1/4“ and 7 1/2”. The angle is a little funny
