58/59 Fiberglass repro fenders
We are looking at buying a pair of the repro fiberglass fenders for Shawna;s 58 and were wanting to know if anyone has used them or if there are many fitment problems.

Haven't used any or seen any in person. I would think that they would fit pretty decent as they are made from a mold, which was probably from an original fender. I have seen some of the repo metal ones that needed some massaging. Have heard that the dies they use wear out quickly causing some of the demensions to be off. I would think fiberglass would be easy to work with if you needed to adjust door or hood gaps. Sorry can't be any more help. What brand name were you thinking on buying, Gibbon's, BeBop, etc? There's a fiberglass shop here in Edmonton that makes them locally, can't comment on the qualitity tho as I haven't seen a set.

Are these for the front Tim?
It seems like a decent set of oems would be the same price if not less. But then again, you have probably been combing the area for them if thats what you wanted eh. If your gona go glass why not a full glass tilt nose on it? I know, I'm not much help bud, so I'll shaddap now |

I have only seen one set of front fiberglass front fenders and they did not fit well at all. They seemed to be lacking in support and were bowed out in the middle where they meet the door.
Why not go with steel reproduction? I did and I am very happy with the quality and fit.

Metal fenders
Does anyone know where you could get the steel reproduction fenders at a reasonable price?
Thanks, Jeff |

fenders
I spotted new fibergalss fenders for under 200.00 each at Unlimited Products phone # (909) 735-7770 or (877) 735-7772. They also have a web sight. Unlimited Products. Dont know anything about this company, just came across their web page last night. If I cant find any metal ones for a reasonable price I might go fibrerglass. I used to have fiberglass fenders on my VW when I was a kid (16) and I loved em. I could bump into things and never cause a dent. They always seemed to hold their shape. That was the good ol days.

I purchased my steels ones for $550 CDN each from Scott's Super Trucks in Penhold AB. I have seen them listed south of the border for $395 each, and one dealer had them on eBay for about $365 each.
Well worth the money in my experience.
