Need new fuse box- I think

I found out why I have no dash lights...in the fuse box I don't have power on either side of the dash lights fuse. Can I just jumper it, or do I need a new fuse panel? Do they sell them new, or do I need to get a used one??? Are they hard to replace? I know I am full of dorky questions...sorry.

Diane

I think the first thing I'd do, is trace the wires down to see where they connect, and see if you have power anywhere along the line. Might be just a broken wire somewhere? Would be a lot easier doing that than replacing the fuse panel. That is of course unless you have this burning desire to put a new one in? I'm not that ambitious myself. Hope you find the problem. Just checked out your pics. LOOKIN' GOOD!

looking at the fuse panel in the upper left part there is a terminal marked cluster feed it should have 2grey wires going to it , remove those wires have your multi-meter in the DC_VOLTS position with the headlight switch turned on with one probe on the spade terminal and the other probe to ground you should be reading 12volts

I had this problem a few months ago and problem was that the fuse used for the brake lights was intermitting. The fuse for the brake lights aslo provides 12V to your instrument panel fuse. Here is a site where somebody has provided the diagrams for our style of truck. It turn out that there was some rust build up on metal where the fuse goes. I just used a dremel to clean out the rust and its been working good. Good luck.
