Externally regulated alternator
Has anybody converted their generator to an externally regulated alternator? Yep I know its probably harder to do but I have about 7 of these laying around here as opposed to going out and buying an internally regulated one and the budget is already busted on this beast...

Nothing wrong with an externally regulated alternator. (I still have mine and the more compact size works better with tall valve covers.) You will still have to buy a new regulator and most of those are electronic inside now anyways. This thread may help
