HELP!!! Will this work???
I am considering taking the front end out from underneath my 72 frame and putting it on my '67 frame (upper/lower A-arms and everything connecting them), so as to get front disc brakes, but I wasn't sure if this would work or not. Would I need to change out the ball joints or anything? I read thru the FAQ's and tried to get some idea, but I am still unclear if this would be a direct fit, or if any mods would be necessary. Advice/pics/instructions are all welcome!!!

Should be able to unbolt the crossmember from the frame and bolt it to the new frame. Works with front crossmembers up to 87. Have at it, take lots of pics and post a FAQ thread on it for us.

remember that the 67 frame has no provision for the power steering box, it must be modded, other that that a little rounding of holes and it should go right in..good luck

Ditto. Unbolt the crossmember, steering box, and idler arm from the frame swap and rebolt to the other frame. One hole will probably have to be rounded out but it will fit

Just to follow up on the post by jostrans68, the early 67 frames do not have a dimple in the frame next to the gearbox location. The later 67 frames do have this. Easy to see, open the hood, and look at the frame rail on the driver side, and if the outside edge is straight, you have early frame, if you see a small curve inward then back out, you have a later 67 frame.

Ditto for, I think, it's the idler arm on the Passenger side of frame. I believe both sides have 3/8" dimples

The a arms will bolt on , or if you swap balljoint assys to the 71-72 pcs, the 72 spindles will bolt to the 67 arms. You will also need the centerlink, & tierod assys(innner, outer, & sleeves) from the 72. you may run into a steer stop issue using the 67 lower arms(shorter turn radius). that can be corrected with a little grinding.....or if the 72 lower arms are better shape, use them. best of luck, crazyL

My plan was to just unbolt the upper/lower a-arms on both sides, leave everthing in between them (centerlink, tierods, etc) all hooked together and bolt it up to the '67 frame. The '67 already has power steering from the PO, so hopefully it will all line up without too many problems!!! Thank you all for the inputs....any other inputs are still welcomed!
