88-91 sm465 question
Did this transmission have a cast iron top, or an aluminum top?
Was the shift position in the same place as the rest of squarebody trucks, or did it move rearward like the gmt400 trucks of the same year range? I'm compiling some sm465-nv4500 swap info, and I'm missing this piece of information.

cast iron. same position. only one that's aluminum and different position is in the 88-92ish new body trucks.

Re: 88-91 sm465 question
Thanks for the info! That's what I was figuring, but I couldn't confirm on my own.
