header gaskets...Whats the best one?
Ive been using mr gasket ultra seal header gaskets and collector gaskets and i keep blowing them. I was thinking about changing them to the copper gaskets this weekend. what do yall think bout that. Or do yall do something special when you install them because i just double gasket them and call it good. Is this not the right way to do it or what? Thanks for any help yall can give.

I'm using the Ultra seals on the headers and the collectors and they seem to be doing ok. On my cut-outs I 'm using the Percy aluminum ones. Those are cool except I had to waller the holes out to get them lined up.

Copper with stage-8 bolts for the headers.
Copper for the collectors with good hardware.

Well,
This is one of thoes ?'s that gets asked often and everyone has there own idea on what works best for them. Here's what i did on all my trucks i take the gaskets that come with the headres and chit can 'em and i use the plane old stock replacement manifold gasket's and there like less than 10 bux total The one's on the '87 Stepper have been on there about 10 years and no blow out's yet And on the S10 about 5 yr's. and im gonna be installing a set of headers on my '99 Tahoe and i'll ues the same method on it as well! |
