Longer wheel studs knurl diameter?
Hi Guys
My friend has got a 71 C10 in need of longer wheel studs on the rear Its got drum brakes and im unsure of the knurl diameter Summit lists them as: 0.535 in. 0.620 in. While rockauto lists them: 0.687 in. 0.535 in. From my research, the stock ones are 0.535 however im not sure if that differs between 67-70 to 71-72 and if the knurl diameter differs between drum or disc rears If somebody can help me clarify Thanks |

Pop a stud out and measure it.
That way you’ll be accurate. |

Re: Longer wheel studs knurl diameter?
I second this statement. It just takes a BFH and some hearing protection and you're good to go.
One thing to note is that when I did this on my truck, the knurl diameter was less because it had been in the hub for 50 years, but it should still be pretty close to whatever diameter you find. Another alternative is pop the stud out and take it to NAPA. That's what I did and they actually had a better price than Rock Auto and I didn't have to deal with an exchange if I got it wrong
