Many thanks to Swervin and Capt Kaos
I had asked a question on the engine and driveline board about adjusting valve and Capt Kaos had given me the link to Swervin Ervins site. I gotta say, it is the best step by step advice for adjusting valves that I have ever seen. I had the wife read out the instructions as I was tightening away and it went so smooth.
I just wanted to thank Capt Kaos for the link, and also thank Swervin for all his great info. It was a HUGE help

I used it too, when I did the valves on my 406, and I'll be using it again shortly when I put the new cam in....thanks Mike!!!

Mike (Swervin Ervin) is the man!
I just recently had this on hand along with the service manual when adjusting a few valves. One questions I have for Swervin is: How come you say to do one valve at a time? The service manual instructions only requires you to rotate the engine once and not before each valve adjustment. Does rotating the engine after/before each valve adjustment give you some sort of advantage over adjust half the intake and exhuast, then rotating and doing the other half intake and exhuast? I only needed to adjust two so this really wasnt an issue for me, but if I have to do them all I would like to know why this is. The way the service manual method seems faster, but does swervins method have an advantage? Thanks!

Eddie,
I do a cylinder at a time (intake/exhaust), following the firing order. I have always done my valves this way. There are several different methods in manuals and such. I just prefer to use the firing order method. This method insures both valves are on the heal of the cam and closed like they should be.
