Re: Chris K. 1956 GMC
Cool project Chris. Really enjoying your updates. Surprised no one asked what a lime truck is.

Re: Chris K. 1956 GMC
I just found my donor truck, a 95 kodiak. It's got a 6.0 cat motor and a 5 speed. It is a flat bed. So it will do well with a 5th wheel. The loan is pending approval now, I should know by close of business.

Re: Chris K. 1956 GMC
did i miss something in translation here? I thought the old gmc was going on the '84 frame, are you swapping the '84 out for the kodiak now or do you have another body in mind for the kodiak?

Re: Chris K. 1956 GMC
No, I am swapping the 84 chassis for the Kodiak chassis. So, the 84 was kind of a waste. I want my 56 GMC to have a cat diesel and a 5 speed. It will be able to haul a damned house!

Re: Chris K. 1956 GMC
Yup, cool huh. Looks like my loan got approved. I'm just waiting for the FedEx'd check to arrive, then I'll drive the 2 hours to pick it up.

Re: Chris K. 1956 GMC
so I finally decided on an engine! a fuel injected, 8.1 out of a 99 C7500! should pull tree stumps just fine! I think I'll look for an HD 5 speed to mate up to it! for for $400 I think I got a deal!

Re: Chris K. 1956 GMC
I think Skymamgs does this just to make me feel good about my own changing horses in the middle of the stream on a constant basis.
